If there has ever been a melting pot of many nationalities and churches, it surely is the Seventh-day Adventist church. Anyone, regardless of age or color, may respond to God’s invitation to peace, pardon, and power over evil habits. No one, no matter what his earthly circumstance, or human condition, is outside of God’s plan for saving him from his sins. God has a happy solution and is everything that He has promised to be.
Adventists are joyful because they are learning the joy of sharing God’s love with men and women everywhere, on all continents and throughout the islands of the sea. This kind of life-style reaches out to heal someone’s hurt. Jesus made it clear that He was showing His followers the way to live for Him: “as you [Father] sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.” John 17:18. This charge is not a burden but a delight. It springs forth spontaneously in those who submit themselves to Jesus in faith.
I will be eternally grateful to God, my faithful mother, and all others who have and will teach me, that I am a part of the thousands of Seventh-day Adventists around the world who are at peace with God’s law.We believe this was the reason Jesus came to earth- to show us how to live in harmony with the laws of health and happiness. We see an unbroken connection between loving Jesus and loving His law. We have learned through experience that the words of Jesus are true to life: “If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love.” John 15:10. Years later John wrote his own testimony to those words he had heard Jesus say:”This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out His commands. This is love for God: to obey His commands. And His commands are not burdensome.” 1 John 5:2,3.
“This calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints who obey God’s commandments and remain faithful to Jesus.” Revelation 14:12.
